Granted-the word soon might not be entirely proper to use, but the Japanese telecommunications company, NTT DOCOMO, is developing right now at 5 g.
According to a press release from NTT DOCOMO in Decmeber month conducted an experiment in the Japanese city of Ishigaki City.
In the experiment, the company used a frequency block on the entire 400 MHz in a frequency range of 11 GHz.
For comparison, using today’s 4 g LTE network in Denmark frequency blocks of 10 or 20 MHz in the frequency ranges at 1800 or 2600 MHz. There is therefore an experiment that uses a huge frequency block and some very high frequencies compared with today’s 4 g LTE technology …
The experiment was carried out with in motion with 9 KM/h, and, according to NTT Docomo was used in Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), which is a special antenna technology that uses multiple antennas to send and receive data at the same time.
In today’s 4 g LTE network is our site two antennas to send and to receive data-called two 2 x 2 MIMO.
In the Japanese scientists used experiment 8 antennas to send and 16 antennas to receive data.
